DUMAGUETE CITY – At least 14 people died and several others were injured as the truck they were riding overturned at Sitio Tubod, Barangay Bulwang in Mabinay, Negros Oriental Wednesday afternoon.
Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), told the Philippine News Agency that the truck was loaded with hogs and other live animals when the accident occurred at 1:30 p.m.
As of posting time, no other details were given as police personnel, rescuers and other volunteers are scrambling to retrieve the bodies that were pinned underneath the truck at a sugarcane field in Tubod. (PNA)
