MANILA – A Hong Kong-bound flight of the Philippine Airlines (PAL) got delayed for several hours as the aircraft winglet reportedly collided with the wing of a parked China Airlines plane at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 on Tuesday.

Based on flight tracker, FlightAware, the PAL flight was scheduled to depart at 10:10 a.m., but only took off at 1:06 p.m.

Both PAL and NAIA's operator, Manila International Airport Authority, have yet to issue details and a statement as of writing.

PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said the incident is under investigation.

"As a result, a replacement aircraft was assigned for PR318 - a Manila - Hong Kong flight. Flight departed anew past 1 p.m. from its original departure of 10:15 a.m.," Villaluna said in a statement. (PNA)
