CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – Police in Rizal province finally caught up with a serial sex offender who has been on the run for 16 years.

Operatives of the Rizal Provincial Police Office (RPPO) on Tuesday evening arrested the suspect in his hiding place in Barangay San Juan in Tanay, Rizal.

The lawmen were armed with multiple warrants of arrest, representing separate sex crimes allegedly committed by the suspect during his years-spanning criminal escapades.

Col. Felipe Maraggun, director of the RPPO, told reporters on Wednesday that the suspect, only identified as “Dante,” is wanted on two counts of child abuse, three counts of qualified rape and rape.

“Rizal Provincial Police Office will continue pursuing wanted persons and we will not cease suppressing crimes that destroy security, peace and order in the province,” he said.

The suspect is now at the custodial facility of the Taytay Municipal Police Station with no bail recommended. (PNA)
