MANILA – Anti-narcotics authorities seized PHP6.8 million worth of shabu from two drug high-value targets (HVTs), including a local official in Lanao del Sur province, in Quezon City on Wednesday night.

In a report on Thursday, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the suspects as 31-year-old Norhan Haron Ampuan, a councilor of Maguing town, and 30-year-old Jalanie Haron Mama.

The two were arrested after selling one kilogram of shabu to a poseur buyer during a sting operation along Don A. Roces Avenue, Barangay Paligsahan at about 8:30 p.m.

Seized from the suspects were the contraband, buy-bust money, a Toyota Avanza vehicle, bank deposit slips worth PHP1.3 million, three ID cards and two mobile phones.

The suspects will be facing a case for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
