MANILA – Eastern Visayas and Caraga will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies affecting the eastern part of the country, the weather bureau said Monday.
Moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, warned the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The rest of the country will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
"The rest of the country will have a generally fair weather with isolated rains that could last for a short period," PAGASA forecaster Obet Badrina said in the agency's 5 a.m. bulletin.
PAGASA, however, cautioned that severe thunderstorms may also cause flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, the northern and eastern sections of the country will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.
Badrina said no tropical cyclone was seen to affect the country.
"There is a slim chance for a tropical cyclone to develop or enter the country during Holy Week," he said. (PNA)
