LEGAZPI CITY – More than 2,500 uniformed officers of the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO5) were promoted to the next higher rank on Monday.

The promoted officers simultaneously took their oaths during the donning and pinning of ranks ceremony in different provincial offices and at the PRO5 regional headquarters here.

In a media release, Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO5 spokesperson, said the promotion program emphasizes the commitment to organizational enhancement, ensuring that only the most qualified ascend to various leadership positions.

For the regular program, the 2,534 promotees were four lieutenant colonels, 15 majors, 34 captains, 43 lieutenants, 208 executive master sergeants, 322 chief master sergeants, 207 staff master sergeants, 773 master sergeants, 622 staff sergeants, and 306 corporals.

Under the special promotion program, five were promoted -- one lieutenant colonel, two lieutenants, and three staff master sergeants.

Brig. Gen. Andre P. Dizon, PRO5 regional director, presided over the oath-taking ceremony, witnessed by the families of the promoted officers.

“Their tireless efforts serve as an instrument of hope and inspiration for future generations of law enforcement,” Dizon said.

The promotion is part of the second-level uniformed personnel promotion in 2023 and the continuous promotion program for the first quarter of 2024. (PNA)
