CEBU CITY – A lawyer who manages the customer care division of the Metro Cebu Water District (MCWD) resigned Tuesday from his post as officer-in-charge and general manager (OIC-GM).

Lawyer John Dx Lapid posted a statement on social media about his resignation from his post as OIC general manager of the water district, just four days after his appointment in lieu of suspended GM Edgar Donoso.

Donoso was suspended for various offenses of the Interim Board’s directives, including continued defiance to turn over documents related to the transactions of the water district.

“In view of what is happening right now, with the rift between MCWD and LWUA (Local Water Utilities Administration). I was appointed as OIC GM of MCWD on April 12. I am resigning effective today. I want to have peace, my family is affected already by all that is happening. I am stressed,” Lapid said.

Lapid told the media that he is also considering resigning as division manager of customer care.

He took a leave of absence after resigning as acting manager.

“I don’t want to be used for politics,” Lapid said in Cebuano. (PNA)
