MANILA – The closed portion of Sales Road in Pasay City was opened on Wednesday afternoon to light vehicles.

In a social media post, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – South Manila District Engineering Office said the road portion was opened starting 4 p.m.

The agency's maintenance team together with water concessionaire Maynilad conducted asphalt overlay to the newly-paved road early Wednesday.

Repairs works on the eroded portion of the road such as backfilling and concreting started on Monday.

The DPWH also advised motorists that only light vehicles are permitted to use the newly restored area of Sales Road temporarily to ensure public safety, and convenience.

A pothole filled with water was discovered along the road early this week.

It was reported that the pothole could have been caused by a pipeline leak that drenched and softened the soil. (PNA)
