MANILA – Supreme Court officials led by Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo met with Bohol court judges to discuss the creation of the Office of the Regional Court Manager (ORCM) to improve the efficiency of the delivery of administrative offices to lower courts.

According to a Friday news release, Gesmundo, together with Associate Justices Ramon Paul Hernando and Samuel Gaerlan met with the province’s first- and second-level court judges to discuss their concerns and assure them of the Court’s support in Panglao, Bohol on Thursday.

The SC said the creation of the ORCM seeks to decentralize and improve the delivery of administrative services to the first- and second-level courts by establishing regional offices across judicial regions.

These regional offices will be empowered to resolve and rid judges of administrative concerns so they can focus on deciding cases, thus improving court processes and the delivery of justice.

The Chief Justice also discussed the Court’s comprehensive plan to make judicial processes efficient through innovation, with the ultimate goal of increasing people’s access to justice.

The Court, through the Interim Planning and Development Office (IPDO), is holding the fourth leg of its pilot implementation of the ORCM in Davao City on Friday. (PNA)
