LAOAG CITY – To entice more local, domestic, and foreign tourists to visit Ilocos Norte this summer, the provincial government is bringing back the symphony of lights at the Ilocos Norte Capitol complex from May 4 to June 2, 2024.

The lights show, which will run from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at a 30-minute interval, is also among the highlights of the month-long La Milagrosa provincial fiesta, which started last April 25. The La Milagrosa provincial festival was launched in 2012.

Like in previous years, the lights show is a hit among tourists as they gather in front of the Capitol to witness the joyful symphony of colors dancing in the night sky with the historic Capitol building as a backdrop.

“Witness the Ilocos summer nights come alive as lights dance in a visual spectacle,” Xavier Ruiz, head of the Ilocos Norte Tourism Office, said.

The opening of the Capitol lights show will coincide with the presentation of the Miss Ilocos Norte candidates representing the 21 towns and two cities of the province.

Before that, a thanksgiving mass at the St. William Cathedral will be conducted, followed by a grand procession in downtown Laoag, highlighting the rich Ilocano culture and devotion to La Virgen Milagrosa, enshrined at the Minor Basilica of Saint John the Baptist in Badoc town, and all patron saints throughout the province.
