Miss U bets help provide meals to women in need

Confidently beautiful with a heart. Miss Universe candidates wear hairnets and gloves as they help pack meals for pregnant and lactating women on Wednesday (Jan. 18, 2017) at the Conrad Hotel in Pasay City. Around 3,600 meals will be provided to women in need in the provinces of Pampanga and Zambales. The event was organized by the Department of Health (DOH) and non-government organization Rise Against Hunger (formerly Stop Hunger Now). The nutritious supplement will be given daily in health centers for 1,000 days to ensure the nutritional requirement of mothers and their babies as part of the “First 1,000 Days” advocacy of DOH.
