National Conference on Natural Capital Accounting

The Philippines has continued to perform well economically, garnering a remarkable growth rate of 6.8 percent in 2016, which is one of the fastest in Asia, faster than that of China’s 6.7 percent and Vietnam’s 6.2 percent last year. "We are optimistic that this upward trajectory will be maintained through people-centered and people-powered policies, stable macroeconomic fundamentals, and strong partnerships with other countries. It is but fitting that the Philippines is dubbed as 'Asia’s Rising Tiger', said Ernesto M. Pernia (in rostrum), Secretary of Socioeconomic Planning, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), in his opening remarks during the National Conference on Natural Capital Accounting with theme: "Accounting nature, Capitalizing Partnership for the Future" held at Marco Polo, Ortigas Centre, Pasig City on Thursday (March 30, 2017).
