PRRD at the World Economic Forum on ASEAN 2017

President Rodrigo Duterte during the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 2017 held at the Sokha Hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on May 11, 2017. The President was joined by his fellow ASEAN leaders from the host country Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen, Lao People’s Democratic Republic Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith, and Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. In his speech during the plenary session, the President, who is the chair of the ASEAN this year, pointed out the different goals that the regional organization aims to accomplish for the next 50 years which includes the promotion of 'Inclusive, Innovation-led Growth', extensive support for the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the pursuance of the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity (MPAC) 2025, investment on human capital and youth empowerment. The President also urged the ASEAN member countries to reaffirm their commitment to make ASEAN an illegal drug-free community. He ended his speech by encouraging ASEAN member countries to work hand in hand in bringing positive change for the region and the world. (Presidential Photo)
