PRRD arrives in Beijing, China

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was given a red carpet treatment and welcomed by Chinese Ambassador to the Philippine Zhao Jianhua upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport at the People's Republic of China (PROC) on May 13, 2017 for his attendance to the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation. The President is among the 29 heads of state and government leaders in the two-day forum. President Duterte was invited by People's Republic of China President Xi Jinping to attend the two-day forum. His attendance to the forum aims to foster strong economic ties with China and the rest of the participating countries. At the airport, the President was also welcome by Beijing government officials including Chinese Counsellor He Rulong.
