HONORING U.S. CONGRESSIONAL GOLD MEDAL AWARDEES. Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana recalls that he was personally involved in the campaign to have Filipino veterans honored by the US Congress, in his speech during the awarding held at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City on Monday (June 10, 2019). He said it needed the approval of two-thirds of the US House of Representatives and two-thirds of the US Senate so that World War II veterans are bestowed the US Congressional Gold Medal.
