DUMAGUETE CITY – The Bureau of Customs’ Sub-port Office here has exceeded its 2017 revenue target collection ahead of schedule by more than three months.
Dumaguete Customs Collector Fe Lluelyn Ganir Toring disclosed Friday that as of September 14, 2017, her office has collected more than Php 1.369 billion, already exceeding the Php 1.303 billion target collection for this year.
Records show that as of Sept. 15, 2017, the Dumaguete Customs Sub-port Office already registered an excess collection of some Php 66.347 million.
In the next three months until December 31st, all collections would be considered excess and well beyond the set target, said Toring.
She attributed the gains to Filoil’s massive importation of petroleum products to Dumaguete City this year.
In September alone, Filoil already had two shipments while a third is set to arrive before the end of the month, he said.
The fuel company is the largest importer-contributor to the collection of the Dumaguete Customs’ Sub-port Office.
“We are so happy that we have reached and even exceeded our targeted collection this year ahead of schedule,” Toring said, admitting that at the start of the year, their office was apprehensive they would be able to meet the quota.
A consistent awardee since 2015 for excellent performance in revenue collections, the Dumaguete Sub-port Office is expected to once again receive this year another recognition from the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
Meanwhile, Toring said Filoil’s increased importation shipments of petroleum products here is an indication of a growing economy.
There is a big demand for fuel and Filoil is responding quite well to it, being the major distributor here, she said.
There are at least six regular huge importers here that contribute to increased revenues, to include Filoil, DUCOMI, and Pryce Gas, among others, Toring said. (PNA)
