CEBU CITY -- The Kilusang Pagbabago Cebu will hold its second "Lihok Suporta" (Support Movement) rally on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Plaza Independencia this city.
This was announced by the group in a press conference on Monday at David’s Tea House in Mandaue City.
Expected to attend the rally is Cabinet Secretary Leoncio Evasco Jr., the brains behind the establishment of Kilusang Pagbabago movements all over the country.
"Lihok Suporta 2" is a renewal of commitment to support not only President Rodrigo Duterte but his agenda of change as well, especially his campaign to alleviate poverty.
"We are inviting every Duterte supporter to join our movement this coming October 7 to show to the president that he is not alone in his campaign and advocacy," Kilusang Pagbabago Cebu lead convenor Doris Mongaya said.
"The President is only one person ruling the entire island of the Philippines. Through our show of support to him, he can push through with his programs and strengthen his leadership," said Office of Participatory Governance -Visayas Cluster director Wendell Martin Cabrera.
Kilusang Pagbabago is a nationwide grassroots-based mass movement envisioned to be the vanguard of the Duterte Administration in ensuring the delivery of government services to the masses.
The movement is also driven towards encouraging the people to participate in the policymaking of the government.
"We are also a watchdog in crime, criminality, corruption and drugs. We are also educators driven towards helping solve the problem of poverty in the country. We likewise educate people on how to act or behave accordingly and become an empowered citizen of the community," said Kilusang Pagbabago Cebu provincial chairman Lawyer Ennoh Chentis Fernandez.
Kilusang Pagbabago is also the President’s partner is pursuing the shift to a federal form of government.
"Again, we encourage all supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte to come to the ‘Lihok Suporta 2’ rally this weekend and reaffirm our commitment to back up PRRD in all his endeavors,” Fernandez said. (USJR intern Levirose Caballero/PNA)
