Bacoor City launches “Alagang Ate Lani Caravan” for poor city folks

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – The city government on Wednesday launched its “Ate Lani Caravan’ first leg in a series of mobile social and health services aimed at bringing the government closer to city and barangay folks at the Talaba 1 covered court here.

The first leg of the service caravan has benefited constituents from Barangays Talaba 1, 3 and 7, Panapaan 2 and Niog 1 here.

More caravans are scheduled in the next few weeks for residents.

Mayor Lani Mercado Revilla spearheaded the caravan so that government services would reach the grassroots with the help of barangay officials.

Revilla is optimistic that everyone would support the caravan to ensure that the program beneficiaries are the poor people.

Revilla said the program targets those who may not have the means to go to City Hall.

Free services such as medical and dental check-ups, late registration of civil documents, seminars and livelihood programs as well as ID application and job fairs are now made more accessible to the people as the caravan will be making the rounds throughout the city.

During the launching, the city government services provided 220 free haircuts, 300 prescribed eyeglasses and 192 denture prescriptions, 264 applicants in the jobs fair, 840 served with hot meals and massage services, among others.

Some 852 patients were also attended by the medical and dental mission; identification cards for PWDs and senior citizens were also processed, and some 134 late birth registrations were facilitated. (Rogelio Limpin/PNA)
