LEGAZPI CITY -- Construction workers unearthed over the weekend two vintage bombs in Barangay Kimantong, Daraga, Albay, a report reaching the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol said.

Police Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP-Bicol spokesperson, said the vintage bombs were recovered by workers excavating at the construction site of a commercial building at Jiggy’s Transport Terminal in Purok 1 of the said village.

Barangay Kimantong is several meters away from the PNP station as well as the municipal building.

Calubaquib believed the bombs were dropped during World War II but failed to explode.

She said the Explosive and Ordnance Department of the regional police office took the two vintage explosives for proper disposition. (PNA)
