MANILA-- EVA Air will be flying directly to Manila and Cebu three times a week beginning March 10, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Tuesday.

According to the agency, the news was delivered by Philipp Wagner, EVA Air sales coordinator for Austria, Central and Eastern Europe during a courtesy call with Ambassador Maria Cleofe Natividad.

At the meeting, Wagner also informed the envoy that he will be heading a familiarization tour to the Philippines with members of Austria’s biggest travel agencies from April 19 to 29, to identify important and potential points of interests for Austrian/European travelers.

Natividad, for her part, assured EVA Air that the Embassy will extend support not only on this project but in upcoming initiatives that involve the promotion of the Philippines as a major tourist destination.

Among others, DFA said a collaboration with the Embassy on its participation in next year’s biggest tourism fair in Austria, the Ferien Messe Wien, was also discussed. (PNA)
