MANILA -- The northeast monsoon or "hanging amihan" would bring rains over North Luzon from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 p.m. weather bulletin on Tuesday, which is effective for 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the regions of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera, including the province of Aurora, would have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The northeast monsoon is the cold wind that blows to the country from Siberia, Russia starting mid-October and strengthens every mid-December.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will also prevail over Metro Manila and other parts of the country caused by local thunderstorms.

Catanduanes, the eastern section of Visayas, Albay and Sorsogon will also experience rough to very rough coastal waters, pushed by strong to gale force winds.

Moderate to rough coastal waters due to moderate to occasionally strong winds will also occur in Northern Luzon, the eastern section of Central Luzon, and Mindanao.

Other parts of the country would have slight to moderate coastal waters caused by light to moderate winds, said PAGASA. (PNA)
