'Oplan Kalinaw' nets 24 wanted persons in Davao

DAVAO CITY--Twenty-four persons with standing warrants of arrest were arrested by authorities during the Oplan Kalinaw, or Joint Area Security Community Service and Protection Operation, conducted in different areas here on Friday.

Senior Insp. Maria Teresita Gaspan, the spokesperson of Davao City Police Office (DCPO), said the operation of the joint security forces and law enforcement also resulted in the identity and profiling of 1,252 residents in Barangays Tomas Monteverde, 39-D, Talomo, Sasa, Buhangin, Bunawan, Toril, Tugbok and Calinan.

Among them were 1,118 persons and 134 without ID.

The persons arrested are facing various crimnal cases such as the violation of the Social Security System (SSS) law, statutory rape, frustrated theft, gambling among others.

Gaspan identified the arrested persons for illegal gambling as Coleta Tababa Roble, Ernie Celis Rode, Randy Ranolo, Zyrel Balisin Delitina, Nonito Mojinco Gacuma, Ely Dayon, Aries de Leon Mala, and Redondo Sapito.

Jhon Paul Elisan Ancajad was arrested for slight physical injuries and maltreatment, Nancy Pepugal Labrado for the SSS Law, Alvin Ritan Enriquez for qualified statutory Rape, and Delo Santos Oconer for frustrated theft .

Others were George Henon Bustamante, Carlo Caballero Lumaran for Serious Physical Injury, Efraim Angel Montemayor Lagrimas for serious physical Injury, John Roger Sarote for serious physical injury, Vincent Cosares Villanel for serious physical injury, Rodel Manequez for physical injury, Bernardo Joel B Dorato for violation of SSS Law, Bian Omega Viola for rape, Peter James Cudiamat for frustrated murder, Rafael Pamologan Chio for Violence Against Women and Children, and Alvin Catoblas Barriga for violation of the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.

Gaspan said 522 residents availed of the free medical check-up, supplemental feedings and among them, 466 persons who received free medicines and vitamins.

The Oplan Kalinaw is a four in one security and outreach activity designed to profile residents and help them obtain identification cards, as well as conduct free medical check-up and distribution of free medicines.

Friday’s Oplan kalinaw was conducted by the different units of the DCPO, Task Force Davao, Regional Mobile Force battalion, Philippine coastguard, Regional Mobile Unit, National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) XI, Regional Intelligence Unit, and the Davao City Health Office.
