ALICIA, Isabela -- A daughter of a tricycle driver and an ambulant vendor here endured hardships in life and studies to finish Magna cum laude and later on passed the Accountancy board examinations as third topnotcher nationwide.

Browsing the internet online, Eddielyn Morfe was overwhelmed, shed tears of joy and embraced her mother when she saw her name as topnotcher in the results released by the Professional Regulation Commission on May 28.

Her tears of joy were consolation to her sacrifices when she took Accountancy bachelor’s degree at the Isabela State University-Echague campus, she added.

Eddielyn said she would be proud to show around the world that her father is a tricycle driver and her mother is an ambulant vendor who could hardly earn money to support the family’s needs and studies with her two siblings.

“I would forever be thankful to my parents for toiling hard in sending me and my siblings to school,” she said.

She would sign a contract next week as an accountant of an auditing firm in Metro Manila.

Eddielyn advised students to pray to God, work hard and let poverty be a challenge to finish studies. (PNA)
