TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Philippine Accreditation Bureau (PAB) has recommended the renewal of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Water and Wastewater Testing and Laboratory (CWWTL) accreditation after validating the lab's compliance to set standards through audit.

According to the DOST-Public Affairs, Relations and Communications Unit (PARCU), the PAB, which is mandated to accredit laboratories that complied with ISO/IEC17025:2005 general requirements, finds the established CWWTL’s ISO 17025-based Quality Management System (QMS) compliant to the requirements of the standards.

The PAB also evaluated the CWWTL which conformed to PAB conditions for laboratory accreditation in the field of water and wastewater testing and analysis.

Two DOST-Cavite’s technical staff, Verjo Angelie C. Maristela, a registered Chemist' and Anna Marie S. Daigan, were also certified as competent to sign testing certificates /results during the audit.

After the two-day reassessment, CWWTL’s was able to successfully pass the management and technical requirements of PNS ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

With DTI-PAB’s recommendation to renew CWWTL’s accreditation, the CWWTL is confirmed to provide quality and good services and could reassure its customers that only valid and precise results are provided to them.

Accreditation is recognized around the world as a sign of quality and good services and achieving accreditation is an assurance for the companies that their products and services have attained greater credibility in the market.

It also confirms national and international recognition of all testing results produced by the laboratory and gives credence that the laboratory has established a quality management system to ensure quality testing and analysis.

In the Philippines, most of the testing laboratories were subjected to accreditation and certification of different certifying bodies to ensure compliances to standards. (PNA)
