LOS BAŇOS, Laguna - The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) on Monday issued a statement denying any association with CoopHub Multimedia Services (CoopHub) and OFW Credit Cooperatice (OFW Credit Coop).

In an official statement, Joane V. Serrano, UPOU information office director, referred to the unauthorized use of UPOU’s name, logo and pictures by CoopHub and OFW Credit Coop on their websites, social media pages and paraphernalia and in their various marketing activities.

Serrano also belied claims of CoopHub and OFW Credit Coop during their talks, seminars and interviews with media implying directly, or indirectly UPOU’s endorsement or support to their programs and services.

Likewise, Serrano clarified that UPOU has neither joint program, course offerings with both organizations, nor it gave them permission to use UPOU’s name, logo and pictures.

She said they have received reports and complaints in spite of the severance of UPOU’s affiliation with both organizations. (PNA)
