MANILA -- The trough of tropical storm "Florita" and the southwest monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Luzon on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

"Florita" was last eyed at 700 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes. It has a maximum winds of 85 km/h near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 km/h, heading north northwest at 22 km/h.

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers caused by localized thunderstorms, according to PAGASA.

Strong to gale winds will blow over extreme northern Luzon and its coastal waters will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
