MANILA -- The southwest monsoon affecting the western section of Luzon will continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon on Wednesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (PAGASA).
In its 4-p.m. weather bulletin on Tuesday, PAGASA said the eye of Typhoon Cimaron was located at 2,300 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon outside Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), with maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 145 kilometers per hour. It is moving northwest at 25 km per hour.
Around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the eye of Typhoon Soulik is at 1,270 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon outside PAR, with maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour near the center of gustiness of 195 kilometers per hour movement, northwest at 25 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon.
The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by "localized thunderstorms."
Strong to gale winds will blow over extreme Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds will blow over the rest of Luzon and Visayas. Moderate winds will blow over Mindanao.
Coastal waters along extreme Northern Luzon will be rough to very rough, while coastal waters along the rest of Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Coastal waters along Mindanao will be slight to moderate.
In Metro Manila, the tide will rise by 1.08 meters at 6:39 a.m. and will drop by 0.14 meters at 3:49 p.m.
