Baguio pulls away in Batang Pinoy medal race

BAGUIO CITY -- Baguio is now assured of once again becoming the overall winner of the Batang Pinoy National Championship after pulling away in the medal tally following the confirmation of the Thursday night and early Friday results.

As of 9 a.m. Friday, Baguio has gotten 46 golds, 46 silvers, and 57 bronzes to take the top spot, as erstwhile medal leader Laguna slipped to fourth place with 20 golds, eight silvers, and 20 bronzes.

Quezon City (21-12-16) and Cebu City (20-25-28) overtook Laguna and moved to second and third places, respectively.

Cebu province is currently in fifth place with 16 golds, nine silvers, and 15 bronzes, while Dasmariñas got 14 gold, seven silver, and four bronze medals for sixth place.

Lucena is in seventh with 13 golds, six silvers, and two bronzes, while Pangasinan is eighth with 12 golds, 15 silvers, and 14 bronzes.

Zamboanga City is ninth with 11 golds, 21 silvers, and 14 bronzes, while Taguig City rounds up the Top 10 with 10 gold, six silver, and nine bronze medals. (PNA)
