'Rosita' to bring more stormy weather, rough seas over Luzon

MANILA — Typhoon Rosita will continue to bring stormy weather over Luzon until Wednesday afternoon, the weather bureau said.

The typhoon was last eyed 125 kilometers northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, with maximum sustained winds of up to 125 km. per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 190 kph. It was heading west-northwest at 25 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Stormy weather will prevail over Pangasinan, La Union, Abra, Ilocos Sur, Mt. Province, Nueva Vizcaya, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Zambales.

Rains with gusty winds will be experienced over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, and the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Aurora, Bulacan, Rizal, Pampanga, Bataan, Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas.

The rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the trough of "Rosita."

Visayas and Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, strong to very strong winds will blow over northern and central Luzon and the western and eastern sections of southern Luzon.

Coastal waters along these areas will be rough to very rough.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern part of Mindanao, where coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Winds will be light to moderate over the rest of Mindanao with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.

"Rosita" is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday evening. (PNA)
