MANILA -- Cocolife has renewed its alliance with Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League team, Davao Occidental.

In a press conference on Monday in its office in Makati City, the largest Filipino-owned life insurance company renewed its ties with the newly-crowned Southern Division champion as its primary sponsor.

"We will continue our support for the team and the players so we can further increase our stature and accomplishments as we go on in this league," Cocolife president and chief executive officer, Jose Martin Loon, said.

Loon was actually in Davao City when the Tigers hosted the San Juan Knights in Game 2 of the national finals on Saturday.

"It's my first time to watch your game," continued Loon, who was named the new Cocolife chief on June 28 last year, or when the MPBL season was already underway.

Davao Occidental won the said game, with everyone teasing Loon as the "lucky charm".

Loon later assured that he will be back in attendance on Tuesday night, when the best-of-five national finals will shift to the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan City. (PNA)
