MANILA -- Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Monday formally endorsed 10 of his preferred senatorial candidates, which include former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go and all seven reelectionist senators.
Sotto made formal his personal endorsements on all seven re-electionist candidates -- Senators Grace Poe, Sonny Angara, Nancy Binay, Cynthia Villar, Bam Aquino, JV Ejercito, and Aquilino Pimentel III during the launching of the Luntiang Pilipinas Partylist in Calamba, Laguna.
"One thing I can assure you, the lineup of reelectionists in the Senate today is the reason why the Philippine Senate now has reached the highest ever trust and approval rating the country has ever had from 1987 to the present," Sotto said.
"It’s because of the diligence, the hard work and the transparency of the work of the Senate and the sincerity of the members of the Senate," he added.
Sotto also vouched for Go's candidacy, saying that he has known him long enough to affirm his roots and character.
"Matagal ko na siyang kakilala at matagal ko narin nakasama noon pa man... Alam ko yung tubo niya. Alam ko yung hubog niya (I have known and met him for so long... I already know his roots. I already know his character)," Sotto said.
Also part of Sotto’s lineup are returning members Taguig City Rep. Pia Cayetano and former Sen. Lito Lapid. (PNA)
