6 nabbed, P20-K shabu seized in Zambo anti-drugs ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Six drug personalities were arrested while some PHP20,000 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, a top police official said Monday.

Police identified the arrested individuals as Abubakar Adjail, Julbari Sarawi, Rowe Moratalla, Rommel Paraiso, Roger Rogicio, and, Glenn Banester.

Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-9 information officer, said Adjail and Sarawi were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 6:15 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Campo Islam.

Confiscated from Adjail and Sarawi's possession were some PHP6,800 worth of suspected shabu packed in six heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP200 marked money, police said.

Police said Moratalla yielded some PHP10,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested in another buy-bust operation around 7:25 p.m. Sunday in Dimas Bayot Drive, Barangay Tumaga.

Paraiso and Rogicio were caught in possession of some PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested around 8 p.m. Sunday in Antipolo Drive, Barangay Tumaga, police said.

Galvez said Banester was arrested around 9:15 p.m. Sunday in Barangay San Jose Gusu. Seized from his possession were some PHP2,000 worth of suspected shabu packed in two heat-sealed plastic sachets and PHP500 marked money.

Police Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Luis Licup, PRO-9 director, has lauded the anti-drug operatives of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) "for a job well-done". (PNA)
