MANILA -- The trough of a low pressure area (LPA) will cause scattered rain showers over most parts of Luzon on Tuesday, the weather bureau said.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted 160 km north northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte.

This will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, central Luzon ,Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Mindoro provinces, Marinduque and Romblon, it added.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow over extreme northern Luzon, where coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (PNA)
