CALASIAO, Pangasinan – Personnel of the Calasiao police arrested four persons and confiscated from them some 20 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of PHP80,000 to PHP100,000, in an operation in Barangay Nalsian here Tuesday.

Lt. Col. Franklin Ortiz, officer-in-charge of the Calasiao Police, said the police officers were to serve a certain Michael Panay, 42, a search warrant for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

In an interview Tuesday, Ortiz said when they came to serve the search warrant to Panay in his house in Nalsian, the other three suspects were there.

“(Panay) was previously reported for firing his gun and we later found out he has a case on illegal drugs and homicide,” he said, adding that police confiscated two sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 10.9 grams, seven more sachets of the illegal drug weighing about 10 grams, assorted drug paraphernalia, a caliber 22 gun loaded with five pieces of ammunition, and ammunition for a caliber 9mm gun.

The other suspects have been identified as Matthew Soriano, 33, a resident of Dagupan City, and Richard Villacorta, 40, and Teofilo Villacorta, 32, both residents of Nalsian.

Ortiz said Soriano admitted he has a case of robbery and illegal drugs.

Legal cases are being readied against the four, he said. (PNA)
