Caloocan's Ligas wins PBF super flyweight crown

DAVAO CITY – Bievenido “Spider Ben” Ligas of Caloocan City defeated Bataan’s JC Francisco via a unanimous decision to win the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation (PBF) super flyweight title bout, which was held Saturday at the Elorde Southbox in Las Piñas City.

Judges Elmer Lopez and Danilo Lopez both scored the fight 99-90 while Nowell Haduca gave it 97-92 all in favor of Ligas.

The 21-year-old Ligas improved his record to 10 wins with 7 knockouts against one loss and a draw.

Meanwhile, Floryvic Montero of Angeles City TKO’d Joan Ambalong of Zamboanga in the first round to win the vacant PBF female light flyweight title.
