6 drugs suspects yield P10.2M shabu in Zambo City

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Authorities arrested six alleged drug peddlers and seized some PHP10.2 million worth of shabu in separate anti-drug operations in this southern port city, an official said Friday.

Lawyer Jacqueline De Guzman, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) regional director, identified the arrested suspects as Benajir Juhaili, Romel Alidjam, Rano Talib, Kerwin Suliaman, Bong Sawbin, and Saddam Abduhassan.

De Guzman said Juhaili, Alidjam, and Talib, all residents of this city -- were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 5 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Tugbungan here.

The three yielded some PHP6.8 million worth of suspected shabu weighing one kilo, a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine PHP1,000 bill and other pieces of evidence, the PDEA official said.

De Guzman said Sulaiman, Sawbin and Abduhassan were arrested in another buy-bust operation around 1:30 p.m. Friday at a supermarket in Barangay Putik, this city.

She said sized from them were some PHP3.4 million worth of suspected shabu weighing one-half kilo, a motorcycle and a bundle of boodle money.

They were arrested by a team of policemen, and PDEA operatives from Region 9 and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

De Guzman said charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
