Davao's Azarcon to fight undefeated Shigeoka July 27

DAVAO CITY--Local pride Clyde Azarcon will fight undefeated Ginjiro Shigeoka of Japan at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo on July 27.

The 24-year old Azarcon (15W-2L-1D, 5KO) scored a unanimous decision over Ernesto Alera of Negros Occidental last June 5 in Cebu. Azacon also settled for  a majority draw with Garry Rojo of Bohol last February 23 in Cebu.

He won the vacant Philippine Boxing Federation minimumweight by a split decision over Bonjun Loperez of Davao City last May 2, 2018.

Azarcon, however, lost by a unanimous decision to Rene Mark Cuarto of Zamboanga in the vacant World Boxing Organization Oriental minimumweight last August 21, 2018 in Gaisano Toril, this city.

The 19-year-old Shigeoka has three wins with two knockouts under his belt.

He beat Joel Lino of Davao City by a unanimous decision last April 14, 2019 in Koshi, Kumamoto.

He earlier TKO'd Gerrttipong Kumsahwat of Thailand in the 1st round. last February 26.

He first knocked out Sanchai Yotboon of Thailand in the 3rd round last Sept. 25, 2018. (PNA)
