COTABATO CITY — A suspected drug-peddling couple fell during a sting operation in Barangay Rosary Heights 11 here on Saturday afternoon.

Director Juvenal Azurin of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) identified the couple as Albeihi Kambali Biang, 29, and his wife Lady Rose, 27, both residents of said village.

The couple fell in an entrapment operation set up around 5 p.m. by combined police and PDEA operatives.

Azurin said seized from the two were 10 grams of suspected shabu with a street market value of PHP50,000; two mobile phones used in illegal drug transactions, shabu paraphernalia, and the boodle money worth PHP20,000.

“The husband has been under surveillance the past four years after he was nabbed during drug buy bust in 2015,” Azurin said.

The couple is currently detained at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility in Pedro Colina Hill, this city, for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Earlier in the day, police also arrested here Ali Abdul Duloan, 22, of Notre Dame Village, Barangay Rosary Heights 8.

Capt. Rommel Canto, city Police Station 1 chief, said Duloan agreed to sell PHP500 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer inside the Catholic cemetery at past 3 p.m.

After handing over the stuff, Duloan noticed the approaching policemen and tried to escape but was eventually arrested. (PNA)
