CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan -- The North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) officially announced on Tuesday the full closure of Bocaue River Bridge along the NLEX southbound lane to give way to concrete pouring and curing as part of the first stage of rehabilitation of the bridge.

Kit Ventura, head of the NLEX Communication Office, said the traffic advisory is to inform the thousands of motorists regularly passing by the expressway starting from the Sta. Rita and Tabang areas in Guiguinto town to the northern part going to Balintawak.

"The southbound portion of Bocaue River Bridge or towards the direction of Balintawak will be closed for 14 hours from August 6 starting at 10 p.m. to August 7 at 12 noon, to give way to concrete pouring and curing of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation and strengthening program,” Ventura said.

Two counterflow openings will be in place during the said hours wherein motorists bound for Balintawak must take the first counterflow opening located right after Petron Balagtas while motorists bound for Bocaue and Santa Maria must take the second counterflow opening after Taal bridge.

"Motorists bound to Tabang and further north must observe two-lane rule along NLEX northbound lane due the counterflows," Ventura said.

He said patrol officers and marshals will be fielded to manage traffic flow and guide the motorists. (PNA)
