COTABATO CITY – Police arrested a man suspected of supplying shabu in North Cotabato and parts of Bukidnon during a sting operation in Carmen, North Cotabato on Wednesday.
North Cotabato police chief, Col. Maximo Layugan, identified the suspect as Mohamiden Macalmas of Koronan, Pagalungan, Maguindanao.
Layugan said Macalmas was nabbed after he agreed to sell some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer along the national highway linking Carmen and Kabacan towns, both in North Cotabato, at about 2:30 p.m.
“As soon as he received the money, Macalmas sped off on his motorbike, but police on board a vehicle gave chase and cornered him,” Layugan said in a statement.
Police said a body check on the suspect yielded more shabu, with the total illegal stuff seized from him amounting to PHP11,000.
Also found in one of the suspect’s pockets was a hand grenade, police said. (PNA)
