Trough of tropical depression brings rains over Luzon, Visayas

MANILA -- The trough of a tropical depression is affecting southern Luzon and Visayas on Thursday, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms.

In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said affected areas include the Region IV-A (Calabarzon), Region IV-B (Mimaropa), Bicol region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, and the provinces of Aurora, Quirino, Isabela, and Cagayan.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought about by localized thunderstorms.

The tropical depression was spotted 1,645 kilometers east of Central Luzon with maximum winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness of up to 70 kph. It is moving northwest at 20 kph.

Metro Manila temperature ranges from 24-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 24-32 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 16-23 degrees Celsius; SBMA 24-31 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 24-31 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 25-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 27-34 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
