MANILA -- Go For Gold Philippines and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) are giving their full support for the success of Filipino athletes in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games which will be held in the country from November 30 to December 11.

More than 100 national athletes from different national sports associations (NSAs) have excelled in both local and international competitions with the assistance of Go For Gold and PCSO.

Among the athletes are Asian Games champion Margielyn Didal (skateboarding); Nikko Huelgas and Kim Remolino (triathlete); Daniel Ven Carino and Ismael Grospe Jr. (cyclists); and International Master Marvin Miciano (chess).

The Go For Gold program is the corporate social responsibility of Powerball Marketing and Logistics Corporation for sports, the makers of Scratch It game cards under the PCSO.

PCSO general manager Royina Garma called on the national athletes to strive for victory during the press conference at the Conti’s Restaurant along Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City on Monday.

“I believe our athletes are all very well-prepared and highly-motivated. I’m sure that we will have a very good performance,” Go For Gold godfather Jeremy Go, for his part, said.

Also under the Go For Gold program are the national teams of sepak takraw and dragon boat. The dragon boat team won five golds in the world championships in the United States last year.

Other athletes in the Go For Gold pool are cyclists Jonel Carcueva, Ronnel Hualda, and Edmhel Flores; and wrestlers Cadel Hualda, a SIKLAB Youth awardee, and Margarito Angana. (PNA)
