Militiaman, 6 others nabbed in Zambo anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- A militiaman and six others were arrested in separate anti-drug operations here and in Pagadian City as the police continue the campaign against illegal drugs in the region, an official announced Friday.

Maj. Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office (PRO-9) information officer, identified the arrested suspects as Justine Rey Enriquez, 21; Jordan Hongco, 34; Eddie Boy Enriquez, 25; Edmar John Poliquit, 25; Erico Columbres, 21, a militiaman; Carmela Daham, 23; and, Marquin Leyson, 30, a newly listed drug pusher.

Galvez said Enriquez was caught in possession of some PHP4,000 worth of suspected shabu and P400 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust operation around 12:30 a.m. Thursday in Resurrecion Drive, Barangay Guiwan, this city.

Galvez said Hongco, Enriquez (Eddie Boy), Poliquit, and Columbres, were arrested around 3:20 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Pitogo, Sinunuc, this city.

Confiscated from them were some PHP5,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money, she said.

Galvez said seized from the possession of Daham were some PHP3,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Barangay Arena Blanco, this city.

She said Leyson yielded some PHP7,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP1,000 marked money when he was arrested around 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Purok Lawis, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City.

She said the suspects were now being detained and charges were being readied against them. (PNA)
