MANILA — The low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of southern Luzon is likely to develop into a tropical depression (TD) and may affect the coastal and inland sections of Luzon and Visayas Tuesday.

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said at 3 a.m., the LPA was last observed at 910 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes. It will be named "Ramon" once it develops into a TD.

Visayas, Bicol region, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga and the province of Quezon, Marinduque and Romblon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the LPA.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains in the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Temperature in Metro Manila ranges from 24-31 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 22-28 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 15 degrees Celsius; Metro Cebu 24-31 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 23-33 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
