KIDAPAWAN CITY – Six town police chiefs in North Cotabato were ordered relieved on Friday by Brig. Gen. Alfred Corpuz, director of Police Regional Office 12 (Soccsksargen).

In his directive, Corpuz said the relief of the police station chiefs of Pigcawayan, Tulunan, Magpet, Antipas, Carmen, and Kabacan, all under the North Cotabato Police Provincial Office, aims to improve the administrative and operational capabilities of each unit.

Two other town police chiefs -- those of Surallah and Tupi in South Cotabato -- were relieved for the same reason.

Lt. Col. Lino Capellan, speaking for the Soccsksargen police, said Corpuz’s action was in line with the thrust of the Philippine National Police to improve the performance of every unit beginning at the national headquarters down to the regional levels.

Capellan said Corpuz has directed all police chiefs to take full responsibility for the implementation of all law enforcement.

Corpuz added that the reshuffling was not meant to find fault in anyone but to make way for the improvement of each unit’s administrative and operational capabilities.

“In that way, we can make sure that our commanders will always deliver results for their share of weight in our campaign against illegal drugs and other anti-criminality campaigns,” he said.

Corpuz said he will soon make public the names of other police officials included in the reorganization. (PNA)
