MANILA -- The northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over most areas in Luzon, the weather bureau announced on Sunday.

In its weather bulletin issued at 4 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos provinces will experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also caused by the northeast monsoon, while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms are expected over Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Strong winds coming from the northeast will produce rough coastal waters in Northern and Central Luzon, which may generate waves from 2.8 to 6.0 meters.

Visayas and the rest of Luzon will likewise experience moderate to rough coastal water conditions with waves measuring 1.2 to 4.0 meters due to moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast.

Light to moderate winds going from northeast to north will affect waters off Mindanao, producing slight to moderate coastal waters with waves from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.

Temperature in Metro Manila will range from 23°C to 32°C, Laoag City 22°C to 25°C, Tuguegarao City 21°C to 27°C, Legazpi City 25°C to 32°C, Metro Cebu 25°C to 31°C, and Metro Davao 26°C to 34°C. (PNA)
