KIDAPAWAN CITY – A local radio broadcaster implicated in this year’s murder of fellow radioman Eduardo “Ed’ Dizon here has posted bail for his temporary liberty Tuesday.

Judge Arvin Sadiri Balagot of the Regional Trial Court Branch 17, ordered the release of accused Sotero Jacolbe Jr. of Angie Subdivision after his representative-bondswoman, Erlinda Jacolbe, posted the PHP500,000 bail bond.

Dizon was on his way home in his car after an evening radio program when unidentified gunmen onboard motorbike opened fire on him on July 10, 2019.

Dizon, a former town councilor of Makilala, North Cotabato, died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds.

In October, Jacolbe surrendered to the Kidapawan police after reports on his impending arrest went viral in the social media.

“I am ready to face the charges against me; I am innocent, that is why I did not escape,” Jacolbe said as he presented himself to the city police office.

Also accused in the Dizon murder were Dante Tabosares, also known as Bong Encarnacion, a staunch supporter of Kapa (Kabus Padatoon) investment scheme that was ordered closed by the government.

Tabosares, who was a blocktimer of another radio station in Kidapawan City, and another suspect, Junel Andakit Poten, remained at large.

The two men also denied involvement in the Dizon murder case. (PNA)
