CALAMBA CITY, Laguna -- A pregnant woman held for previous drug cases was arrested anew by police here in buy-bust on Wednesday in Barangay Parian, yielding some 90 grams of what is believed to be shabu worth PHP621,000.

Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna provincial police director, identified the suspect as May Anne Pisigan of Barangay Baclaran in nearby Cabuyao City.

He noted that Pisigan has had two previous arrests for violation of the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

She spent time in jail in 2010 and 2018, Matta said.

Matta said authorities hope the arrest would lessen the illegal drug problem in both Calamba and Cabuyao cities. (PNA report by Roselle Aquino)
