FORT MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City -- Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque on Wednesday visited the proposed quarantine site for returning Filipinos from China at a portion of the Mega Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center (Mega DATRC) here and described it as “more than adequate.”

He ordered the physical preparation of the facility, which includes provision for separate sides for men and women, isolation rooms, health stations, and activity areas.

Duque said he wants to make sure that the comfort rooms are clean and ready in case the inter-agency task force finally decides to bring repatriates here.

Filipinos from China are expected to land at Clark Airport on Saturday and if the original plan is pursued after which they will be transported to Nueva Ecija.

"It's (the facility) more than adequate except for some minor adjustments to make it really comfortable and place to be really good for our soon to be repatriated compatriots," Duque said.

Brig. Gen. Henry Robinsons, assistant division commander of the Army's 7th Infantry Division (7ID), said each room at the ground floor will be provided with electric fans and air-conditioning units will be installed in the upper rooms.

“Medyo mas mainit kasi dun (It is a bit warmer there)," Robinsons said of the second floor.

The Health chief also allayed concerns of contamination by the residents here.

He said there is nothing to worry about as they will ensure that the deadly novel coronavirus will not spread from the quarantine area.

Duque likewise appealed to the public not to spread wrong information regarding nCoV. (PNA)
