BALER, Aurora — A total of 33 residents of this province, stranded in the borders of Aurora and Nueva Vizcaya, have been allowed to go home to their respective towns after completing the required 14-day quarantine period.

Arsenio Valenzuela, spokesperson of acting Governor Christian Noveras, said on Wednesday that the 33 are part of the total 137 residents who were refused entry at the Canili checkpoint in Barangay San Juan, Maria Aurora town due to the enhanced community quarantine last March 21.

The 33 are from the towns of Dipaculao, San Luis, Maria Aurora and Dilasag.

“The municipal health officers, including the mayors and other local officials, ferried them to their respective homes,” Valenzuela said in a phone interview.

Dr. Luisito Teh, provincial health officer, gave medical certificates to the 33 stranded residents, proving that they have completed their 14-day quarantine.

The stranded residents temporarily stayed at Canili Area National High School where the provincial government provided them food, hygiene kits and sleeping kits.

So far, there are still 92 stranded residents who have yet to complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine period.

As of Wednesday, there is still no confirmed Covid-19 case in the province.

However, there is one severe patient under investigation (PUI) and 78 PUIs with mild symptoms and still on home quarantine. On the other hand, the number of persons under monitoring (PUM) who are still on home quarantine is 620. (PNA)
